Working as a subconsultant in 2021, Lu Engineers assisted with the Structural Condition Assessment of the runway extension at LaGuardia Airport for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ).  LaGuardia is one of the nation’s busiest airports and the third largest in New York City. Lu’s team performed inspection work that included structural condition evaluation of steel, reinforced concrete and timber beams and columns that support the airport’s runway extension. Watercraft access was also used below the runway deck during low tide.
