Lu Engineers was a subconsultant on this project to assess the feasibility and to develop schematic designs for a range of streetscape and open space initiatives to improve neighborhood connectivity. The designs aimed to reduce East Lakeview’s severe segmentation and isolation from downtown and the waterfront due to rail and highway. Doran Avenue rail abutments and trail alignment surveys were conducted along with concrete coring and compressive strength testing. An SI database was comprised of geophysical survey findings and sample analytical results, as well as various GIS maps and data. Site inspection and review of historical data and database research with environmental search reports were also conducted.
