Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC), Ballantyne Wetland Mitigation Area

Lu Engineers conducted delineation of federal and state regulated wetlands adjacent to Black Creek to allow for design of wetland mitigation areas surrounding Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC). Wetland delineation reports were submitted to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and, an on-site Jurisdictional Determination visit was conducted. Lu’s Environmental Task Specialist also completed design of 5.81 acres of wetland mitigation area, received approvals for mitigation plans, NYSDEC permits and SEQRA process. Estimates and bid documents were prepared for the project, and Lu Engineers assisted in selection of the contractor, in addition to providing oversight of the construction phase. Currently, the firm conducts annual monitoring of the wetland mitigation areas.
