Air Force Research Laboratory Environmental Services

Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Term Contract for Environmental and Civil Engineering Services, Rome, NY

In 2019, Lu Engineers was awarded its sixth 5-year, multi-million dollar term agreement with the United States Air Force to provide environmental and civil engineering services to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) based in Rome, New York at the former Griffiss Air Force Base. Lu Engineers began working with AFRL/RRS in 1992 while Griffiss Air Force Base was active and continues to serve their engineering needs in support of on-going electronics research missions and associated management of office buildings, research facilities and other properties. The AFRL contract has provided Lu Engineers

with numerous challenging engineering projects calling on a wide range of civil and environmental engineering disciplines. We have developed long-term relationships with a number of specialty engineering firms, qualified laboratories, and contracting firms to help us complete assignments for the Air Force consistently on time and within budget. Many of our assignments have been related to cleanup and revitalization/reuse of environmentally impacted properties.

Environmental delivery orders have ranged from small indoor air quality investigations and on-call sampling and testing to large-scale environmental investigation and remediation projects. Lu Engineers also provides on-going services involving asbestos abatement design and project monitoring, energy conservation, petroleum bulk storage engineering, hazardous materials compliance, pollution prevention planning and implementation as well as cultural and natural resources management. Lu Engineers provides structural engineering and related services under this contract as well.

Civil engineering assignments have included structural design and analysis, fire suppression system replacement, demolition design and oversight as well as various infrastructure and survey related assignments.
