Lu Engineers is pleased to announce the hiring of Robert Bilyo, PE in the role of Aviation Group Leader. Mr. Bilyo, a Professional Engineer licensed in New York and Pennsylvania, brings over 32 years of experience in the engineering industry, including, over 26 years of aviation related project design and management. His projects include runway, taxiway, service road, tunnel, hangar, terminal, customs, and SRE buildings, de-icing systems, and fuel farm projects. He is practiced in the development of plan sets, specifications, and estimates for bid through construction administration and inspection. He has extensive experience estimating project quantities and costs, and has a thorough knowledge of aviation regulations including FAA Advisory Circulars, and NYS DOT standards. Additionally, he has managed field inspection staff on aviation projects at various airports for more than 16 years.
Mr. Bilyo’s project portfolio includes design work at airports in the States of New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and New Jersey, and includes work at the Greater Rochester International Airport, and Griffiss International Airport and Westchester County Airport, among others. In his role, Mr. Bilyo will continue his work in a design capacity and develop Lu’s growing aviation practice.
