Newly Raised Highway and Hardened Shoreline

Lu Engineers was pleased to attend the Ribbon Cutting for the Jefferson County Highway Department’s Lake Ontario Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative (REDI) project. Lu Engineers was the prime consultant on the project that raised highways and hardened the shoreline in three locations to prevent flooding during high water events . A unique feature of the project included the County’s first turtle crossing allowing for the safe passage of the threatened Blanding’s turtles from  Chaumont Bay to Lake Ontario.
