Lu Engineers accepted award at Engineering Excellence Award Gala held in New York City

Lu Engineers was selected to receive the Platinum Engineering Excellence Award by the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York for the Environmental Category. The selected project is the 62-64 Scio Street Brownfield Remedial Investigation and Cleanup, located in the City of Rochester. The site had formerly been used for industry and been classified as a Brownfield. Lu Engineers designed the plans and oversaw the operations to remediate the contaminated soils using state of the art technology that would mitigate impacts to nearby residents. Lu’s team worked closely with the City’s Environmental Division, and engaged neighborhood leaders, businesses and residents to inform them of the project activities, schedule and status. The project began in Spring of 2012, and all site work was completed by 2018.

Lu was very pleased to be a partner with the City in this important East End endeavor”, stated Cletus Ezenwa, Lu CEO, upon learning of the Platinum Award. “The City leadership is to be commended for their diligent efforts to clean up properties with environmental impairments, making them ready for redevelopment.
