Lu Engineers seeks Marketing Coordinator for our Buffalo Office. This position supports the business development and marketing efforts of our six New York State based offices.

The Marketing Coordinator’s main focus is to develop, design, coordinate, proofread, assemble and ship proposals and qualifications packages to team partners and prospective clients, ensuring complete and timely responses. Develop, design, edit and proof read print and digital marketing communications collateral including staff resumes and firm project profiles. The Marketing Coordinator is also required to represent the company at occasional networking events, trade shows and conferences. The position includes supportive office administrative duties.

Required experience and skills include:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication or equivalent or 2 years commensurate experience in a marketing setting

Excellent writing skills, with the ability to deploy proper grammar and punctuation and correct spelling

Ability to collaborate with technical staff, and work within a team environment

Ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects and adhere to strict deadlines

Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office Products

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Desired but not required experience includes:

Graphic design capabilities

Experience with a consulting based business

Experience with CRM programs, and Deltek for Professionals

Technical aptitude

General Description of Responsibilities: The controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records ensuring the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and cash management. A brief summary of responsibilities includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • oversee the accounting operations, including transaction-processing operations, policies and procedures
  • setup new project and employees, enter vendor invoices (AP) and process weekly check run, process biweekly payroll and related journal entries
  • monthly billing process, revenue reporting, bank reconciliation, credit card reconciliation, vacation balance reconciliation, company vehicles mileage log, perform monthly closing process
  • assist financial manager with annual budget and quarterly financial performance analysis, year-end journal entries, year-end accounting system closing and financial reporting
  • assist corporate CPA with annual CONR 385 audit and financial reporting compliance, assist NYSDOT with project audits, assist with annual professional liability insurance audit

Qualifications/Requirements: BS or higher-level degree in Accounting (MS preferred), 2-4 years relevant professional experience preferred, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply, familiarity with Deltek accounting software preferred, but Deltek software training will be provided as needed, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Lu Engineers, PC, is a full service environmental engineering company located in Rochester, NY. We are looking to fill the position of Asbestos Air Sampling Technician /Project Monitor. This is a full time position expected to work 40 hours per week. Valid NYSDOL asbestos air and project monitoring training certifications are preferred. A minimum 2 year college education is also a plus. Training for certification will be provided for the right person. Pay will be based upon experience. Opportunities are available for advancement.

  • Competently schedule inspection teams and coordinate contractors supporting the inspection effort, such as special access equipment, WZTC, RR flagmen, etc.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in high traffic environments and around heavy equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of seven, preferably 10, years of experience in the field with a minimum of three years Bridge experience: design, construction, inspection
  • New York State PE registration or the ability to acquire same in three months or less
  • Previous approval by NYSDOT, NYSTA or other agency as an Inspection Team Leader, or meet the NBIS standards to qualify as a Team Leader
  • NYSDOT and/or NHI training in safety inspection of in-service bridges
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to fulfill the physical demands of the job: carrying, erecting and climbing ladders: working at heights from ladders and lift vehicles
  • Experience with NYSDOT EAM software a plus
