Lu Engineers
provides a unique program that can help the municipalities and businesses
stay ahead of today’s complex environmental health and safety
regulations. Our Compliance Assistance Program
is an Environmental Management System (EMS) designed to
specifically help organizations comply with environmental regulations that
impact their operations.
The CAP program is
initiated by identifying facility specific compliance requirements using
an environmental health and safety planning audit. Information from the
planning audit is then incorporated into a regulatory compliance matrix
that is used to assist facility management with establishing priorities,
identifying responsibilities and scheduling corrective actions.
The planning audit
is designed to be a management tool for identifying compliance needs for
each facility as opposed to a comprehensive “compliance audit.” Based on
established priorities in the planning audit, program implementation is
addressed by working with appropriate staff to help develop written plans
and procedures, conduct inspections, complete training, or provide
whatever other assistance is necessary. As part of this program, site
specific Compliance Manuals are also developed for the client.
The CAP is
consistent with the objectives of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management
System. Since the mid-1990’s, our staff has implemented the program for
numerous small and medium sized businesses, municipalities, and large
organizations. A number of these organizations are currently pursuing ISO
certification. |
